Next Sheffield Drift.
Uncertain Spaces: A City At Night
Friday 16 November 2018
Start 6.30pm
Atrium Sheffield Station opp WH Smith
Finish approx 9pm probs nr Gardener’s Rest as M&J Blues are playing there

We will be walking through the city to some of the places painted by Andy Cropper
The exhibition was on until 5 Nov at APG Works and the originals were a bit better than the thumbnails(!).
Fortunately the paintings are on-line.
and can also be seen on Facebook.
NB those originals not yet sold and prints of the works are available.

Andy will be drifting with us all too and it will be a good opportunity to chat and learn about his work.
The locations are on the map and each location is linked to its respective painting and street view.
Please take a dekko, if you have the time.

I came away from the exhibition seeing my city in a new light.
Imitating Andy’s style I took this photo of Scott Rd Store using my phone camera.
The definition is not super sharp so I think the picture takes on the look of a painting
Bring a phone or camera to take your own photos and we can make our own exhibition to post here!
Get your inner artist out …!

Scott Rd Store

Put this active, aesthetic, psychogeographic experience in yr calendar
All welcome. Hope to see you there!

Next Sheffield Drift: Sheffield Modern Saturday 27 Oct 2018 3.30pm

Sheffield Drift through Sheffield Modern
Meet outside Victoria Hall, Norfolk St

Start 3:30pm PROMPT
Free – no need to book

In the spirit of the flâneur, Sheffield Drifter aims to bring together “strollers, saunterers, wanderers and meanderers who love to feel the urban landscape beneath their feet.”
Drifters will be taken on a route that take a critical view about urban walking for transport or leisure have been affected by modernism and its subsequent development (or corruption?).
For Sheffield Modern, the drift will follow a route critically admiring and discussing why modernism makes walking so difficult?

Story-sharing and conversation is encouraged.

More information, the route, and food for thought as you walk will be posted here and on the Sheffield Drifter fb page – in good time.
The drift will end no later than 5pm at South St Kitchen, Park Hill flats where there will be events and exhibitions to view.
